WEGMC given ‘go live’ on rare disease & breast cancer pathways

The WEGMC is pleased to announce they have been awarded ‘go live’ status from NHS England and Genomics England to proceed to commence consenting patients into the 100,000 Genomes Project.

Catherine Carpenter-Clawson, Programme Manager, for the WEGMC commented: “It has been an extremely busy few months for the team here ensuring we have everything in place to offer the opportunity for local patients to be part of the 100,000 Genomes Project.  We are pleased to have been able to progress to this stage and will be starting to contact patients who may be eligible to enter the study shortly.  I would personally like to thank the staff who are working incredibly hard to help ensure we can deliver this service safely and efficiently and it is very exciting to be part of such an important project both locally and nationally.”
