WE GMC to hold Return of Results workshop – 24th April 2018

The West of England Genomic Medicine Centre plans to host a ‘return of results workshop’ open to clinical staff involved in the project and participants and members of public wishing to make a positive contribution to shaping the pathways of clinical care.

The core team plan to hold an event in mid to late April to bring together individuals to discuss work the GMC has undertaken to date to draft pathways for return of results and to get feedback, comments and suggestions for improvements to these pathways.

Catherine Carpenter-Clawson, Programme Manager for the WE GMC stated: ‘ As the WE GMC starts to get results back from the 100,000 Genomes Project we are keen to work with our clinical colleagues and participants to discuss our proposed pathways for return of results both to clinicians and ultimately to patients.  We are keen to ensure we provide clear and helpful feedback on any findings and that we work collaboratively across the region to develop this area of work as it may ultimately influence the mainstreaming of genetic and genomic testing in the future.”
